Opening Management Consoles

Another series of tools that can be accessed from the run line are the MSC or
[ Microsoft Management Snap-in Console ]

Start then Run type “compmgmt.msc” and press ok to open the Management Console.

Start then Run type “ciadv.msc” and press ok to open the Indexing Service.

Start then Run type “devmgmt.msc” and press ok to open the Device Manager.

Start then Run type “dfrg.msc” and press ok to open the Disk Defragmenter utility.

Start then Run type “diskmgmt.msc” and press ok to open the Disk Management utility.

Start then Run type “gpedit.msc” and press ok to open the Group Policy Editor. [Windows XP Professional only]

Start then Run type “services.msc” and press ok to open the Services console that starts, stops, and configures Windows services.

Start then Run type “certmgr.msc” and press ok to open the Certificates console

Start then Run type “ciadv.msc” and press ok to open the Indexing Service

Start then Run type “eventvwr.msc” and press ok to open the Event Viewer

Start then Run type “fsmgmt.msc” and press ok to open the Shared Folders

Start then Run type “lusrmgr.msc” and press ok to open the Local Users and Groups

Start then Run type “ntmsmgr.msc” and press ok to open the Removable Storage

Start then Run type “ntmsoprq.msc” and press ok to open the Removable Storage Operator Requests

Start then Run type “perfmon.msc” and press ok to open the Performance Monitor

Start then Run type “wmimgmt.msc” and press ok to open the Windows Management Infrastructure
